This is the biannual meeting of the Dark Energy Survey Collaboration, held at

the Institute of Theoretical Physics (IFT) in the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid

(UAM), from October 5th to 9th 2015.

HOW TO GET TO THE IFT

The IFT is in the north of the city. The best way to get there is by train (Renfe

Cercanías). We will provide you with train tickets for the whole week, but the

first day you will have to buy a one-way ticket on the machines. You can take

the C-4 (A+B) lines (direction to "Alcobendas-SS.Reyes" and "Colmenar",

resp.). You can board in "Atocha", "Sol", "Nuevos Ministerios" or "Chamartin",

and stop in "Cantoblanco Universidad".

If your hotel is far from one of these train stations you can reach them by metro.

The first day at 8.30-9.00am there will be someone waiting for you at the

Cercanias station in Cantoblanco, so please try to be there on time. In any

BIKES

It's a nice 15 minute walk from the train to the IFT. There are 10 bicycles

available for those interested in using them to move around UAM Campus,

but specially to go from the Train Station to the IFT. We will ask for a deposit

of 10€ which will be returned in exchange of the keys of the locks at the end

of the week. We will assign them in a first-come-first-served basis. Those

AIRPORT – HOTELS

From Madrid airport it is very easy going to the center of the city.

If you arrive to Terminal 1, 2 or 3 you can take the metro, line 8 which goes to

'Nuevos Ministerios'. If you arrive to terminal 4 you can take either metro line 8

or cercanías line C1 which goes to 'Chamartín', 'Nuevos Ministerios' or 'Atocha'.

LUNCH

We will also provide you with lunch tickets for the whole week to have lunch

in Plaza Mayor on UAM Campus (number 26 in the map, 10 minutes from

the IFT).

TOUR

There is also a planned 2 hour visit to "Madrid de los Austrias", with 30 places,

on Tuesday night. If you are interested please sign up in the doodle.
