The observation of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos by the IceCube Neutrino Observatory has opened up a new window to the universe. These neutrinos traverse the longest distances from their sources and have the largest energy ever observed. These neutrinos open a new trail to search for new physics that cover parameter space not accessible to terrestrial neutrino experiments. In this talk, I will explain the inner workings of the IceCube neutrino observatory, discuss latest measurements of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos, and provide examples of new physics searches with these neutrinos.

In this talk, I will give an overview of theories for light dark sectors and the recent developments probing these theories at high-intensity experiments.

I will explain how so-called higher-form symmetries, which count spatially extended objects instead of point particles, provide a useful organizing principle to understand phases of matter such as superfluids. I will then describe how such symmetries also emerge in certain phases of holographic matter.

A review of the most significant results from the LVK Collaboration are presented,  based on the data collected during the O3 observation run.   The plans and prospects for the next decade are also discussed.

Despite the successful structural completion of the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics through the discovery of the Higgs boson, questions remain open that cannot be answered within the SM. Among these two of the most prominent ones are those for the nature of Dark Matter (DM) and why there is more matter than antimatter in the universe. Extended Higgs sectors beyond the SM have the potential to answer these questions in specific regions of their parameter space. This on the other hand has consequences for LHC Higgs physics. I will highlight the role that the Higgs boson plays in answering the mentioned open questions and the relation between collider Higgs physics and cosmological implications in the context of baryogenesis.

I discuss the use of effective field theories, perturbative and non-perturbative and their use to obtain predictions of the Standard Model for phenomenology in order to aid the search for new physics. Examples are B-decays on the one hand and the determination of the strong coupling as an input for LHC physics on the other.

Theoretical and algorithmic advances, availability of data, and computing power have opened the door to exceptional perspectives for application of classical Deep Learning in the most diverse fields of science, business and society at large, and notably in High Energy Physics (HEP).  Generative models, in particular,  are among the most promising approaches to analyse and understand the amount of information the next generation HEP detectors will produce.

Generative modeling  is  also a  promising  task  for  near-term  quantum  devices  that  can  leverage compressed high dimensional representations and use  the  stochastic  nature  of quantum  measurements  as  random  source. Several architectures are being investigated.  Quantum  implementations of Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) and Auto-Encoders, among the most popular classical approaches, are being proposed for different applications. Born  machines  are  purely  quantum  models that can  generate probability distributions in a unique way, inaccessible to classical computers.

This talk will give an overview of the current state of the art in terms of generative modeling on quantum computers with focus on their application to HEP. Examples will include the application of Born machines and quantum GAN to the problem of joint and conditional distributions learning.

 

Axion-photon interactions can be dramatically enhanced in magnetospheres of neutron stars, making these environments powerful testbeds for new physics beyond the Standard Model. In this talk I will discuss several novel signatures of axions that can arise in these powerful astrophysical, including narrow radio lines, broadband radio spectra, transient radio bursts, and pulsar nulling. I will highlight recent searches and future prospects to detect axions with masses from ~1e-9eV to ~1e-4eV.
