The workshop dinner will take place on Thursday, at La Cocina de San Antón.

The restaurant is right on top of Chueca metro station, and a 10-15 minute walk from Sol or Hotel Tryp Atocha. All participants and their accompanying persons are warmly welcome to join the event. The price per person is EUR 41.

Dinner vouchers will be collected at the registration desk during the workshop, and only cash payment will be possible.

In addition, here are some suggestions for dining in central Madrid.

Cercanias map

getting to the IFT by train

The easiest way to get to the IFT from the city centre is to take a Cercanías train from Atocha or Sol (the latter is a ten minute walk from the Hotel Tryp Atocha where many of you are staying). You can buy an “Abono de 10 Viajes Sencillos” to Cantoblanco Universidad from the ticket machines for €12.85, which gives you ten single trips.

Then take a train with destination Colmenar Viejo or Alcobendas-San Sebastián de los Reyes (line C-4), and get out at Cantoblanco Universidad.

The IFT building is a 20 minute walk from there through the campus, as shown by the red line on the map below, from the train station (27) to the IFT (41).

Metro 1 and Bus 714 route

getting to the IFT by metro+bus

Alternatively, you can avoid the 20 minute walk by taking the Metro line 1 to Plaza de Castilla (direct 15-20 minutes trip from Metro stop Antón Martín, next to Tryp Atocha). Then exit the metro station and take the bus 714 from the Intercambiador Plaza de Castilla (between the leaning towers), which stops at the CBM (the crossing between buildings 36 and 22 in the campus plan below).

Beware: as other big city subway systems, Madrid's has its share of pickpockets. The density is highest in lines 1 and 8 (airport), as well as in the Sol-Gran Vía commercial area. Keep an eye on your belongings.
